Onto the new Metro! Things have been really stressful lately with all the little details we didn't count on. But each day is a little better...hopefully soon it will not feel so surreal to be in the new place.

Metro's Big Move!
Well, the big move happened almost two weeks ago. Much has happened since then, but the "old" Metro is officially closed and has a little more than two weeks until it is demolished! The move actually went surprisingly well from my end. On the receiving end there were a few more glitches, but nothing that couldn't be dealt with. All the patients were moved by ambulance and the move was complete in less than 6 hours. We moved about 75 patients. Here are a few photos from the old Metro on move day.
They even let us write on the wall. Here is some staff saying goodbye to an old home.

This is a picture of the old playroom, that wasn't ever really used as a playroom, but the staff painted it themselves. The crazy part is they did this about 6 years ago and they were working on it when I did my leadership rotation there in school. Now I get to say goodbye to it!
The ambulances waiting patiently for their next patient! :)
This was a mishap...Mary put some equipment that was supposed to be moved with the patient in this bag because we didn't have any others that are strong enough. Problem is, the housekeeper picked it up and put it down the linen shoot (because the bag says soiled linen). Mary was brave enough to go and find it! :) Thanks Mary!
The whole crew after the last patient was moved.
The last equipment waiting to be picked up by the movers.
Even the patients got involved and wrote on the wall in their room.

Csn't imagine the preparation that goes into moving hospital patients! I worked several years as a social worker for a local Nursing Home-- SOOOO glad I didn't have the stress of moving everyone to their brand new facility this last week!
Are you close to the staff? I miss the professional atmosphere some. Hey, how often are you getting time with you folks? It looks like you are real close with the in-laws... do they watch the little man??
Have a good weekend. Prayer request- my dad is having emergency brain surgery on Saturday to drain a bleed from a fall a couple days ago-- he's on coumadin for his heart condition... he's scared.
